We’re Laura and Kristin, partners in Environments. LLC and longtime admirers of Kansas City’s historic neighborhoods. We stage homes with warmth, personality, and an eye for the character that makes each house—and its community—special.
Kristin brings a skilled eye for pulling a room together, with a knack for balancing color, texture, scale, and the details that make a space feel finished. Laura brings a love of plants and the life they add to a space, along with a resourceful approach to sourcing furnishings and décor. Together, we combine design instinct, creative problem-solving, and a thoughtful eye for value—often incorporating carefully selected secondhand and one-of-a-kind pieces to create spaces that feel collected, cohesive, and intentional. We believe great design isn’t about spending more; it’s about making smart choices, working with what a home already offers, and finding the right pieces to bring out its best. Our approach is budget-conscious and environmentally mindful, without compromising on style or quality.
Our work extends into neighborhood gathering places, too. We oversee plant styling, care, and maintenance at Blackhole Bakery and West Plaza Bodega, bringing that same personal touch to spaces our community shares.

Bring a little life into your space. We believe plants make a place feel more like itself—warmer, more welcoming, and a little more human. From choosing the right greenery for a sunny storefront or a cozy corner at home to finding the perfect pots and finishing touches, we bring nature indoors in a way that feels natural to the space, not like an afterthought. We also provide ongoing plant care and maintenance, so your greenery can keep thriving long after installation. No green thumb required!
Our plant work is rooted in a genuine love of all things leafy and a practical understanding of what plants need to thrive. Much like our approach to home staging, we believe great spaces don't require buying everything new. We propagate many of our plants from our own collection, growing new greenery with a little patience and a lot of care. It's a resourceful, environmentally conscious way to keep costs thoughtful without sacrificing the impact that living plants bring to a space. We're proud to care for the greenery at local favorites like Blackhole Bakery and West Plaza Bodega, helping these neighborhood spaces feel a little more alive. Whether it's a few well-placed plants or a fuller indoor jungle, we bring the know-how, personal attention, and just the right amount of plant nerdiness to make it grow.
